Founders

Meet Our Leadership Team

ARE was founded by two friends who share a passion for Technology, Real Estate and African culture.

Ronnie Kamara

Co-Founder & CEO

Ronnie’s background is a little more diverse than most. Born in Uganda, he received his early education in Kenya before returning to Uganda for more schooling, and then moving onto London UK for further studies.

After living and working for a few years in the USA – in insurance, as it turns out – he moved back to Africa. This time to take up management of a large manufacturing company based out of Burundi.

Currently residing in Kigali, Rwanda, Ronnie is an avid IT enthusiast and serial entrepreneur. His global background and regional experience in the East, Central and Southern Africa regions is invaluable to ARE.

Matthew Knighton

Co-Founder & CTO

Matt, born in England and raised in Australia received his early education there before joining the finance world as a Business Analyst for one of Australia’s largest corporate mergers.

With a diverse background in technology and finance, he’s also been called upon by large international real estate companies to consult for their projects. He has since founded multiple companies to help businesses succeed with their digital transformation projects- he’s currently our chief pilot for ARE!
